TRICARE covers mammograms for women age 40 or older. If the mammogram is an annual preventative care screening with no concerns for the breast, patients may self-refer to a TRICARE authorized provider for this service. Patients under the age of 40 who are classified as high risk or patients over the age of 40 with concerns should consult their primary care manager and obtain a referral before receiving mammography services.
